Project Overview

Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd needed a storage system that could hold a large volume of palletized goods without using excessive warehouse floor space for wide aisles. For this project, ANH Enterprise worked on a Shuttle Racking System using Godrej-manufactured racking components, with the focus on creating a compact, high-density storage setup for pallet handling.

The system was designed as a deep-lane storage solution, where pallets are stored inside the rack lanes instead of being arranged only one pallet deep. This type of layout helps use both the height and depth of the warehouse more effectively, making it suitable for operations where a large quantity of similar palletized products needs to be stored within a limited footprint.

The project offer included four radio shuttle units as part of the shuttle racking solution. These shuttle units are used inside the rack lanes to move pallets deeper into the storage channel, reducing the need for a forklift to enter the rack structure itself.

Project Configuration

  • Client: Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd
  • Project: Shuttle Racking System
  • Solution & Installation Partner: ANH Enterprise
  • Manufacturer: Godrej
  • System Type: High-Density Shuttle Racking
  • Radio Shuttle Equipment: 4 Units
  • Seismic Design: Zone 2 as per BNBC guidelines
  • Rack Uprights: Lead-Free Oxford Blue
  • Beams: Lead-Free Orange
  • Bracings: Galvanized

One important part of the design was its seismic consideration. The system was specified to withstand Zone 2 seismic forces in line with BNBC guidelines, which was included as part of the engineering basis for the racking structure.

Built for Deep-Lane Pallet Storage

The actual project photos show the scale and structure of the installation clearly.

The rack is arranged in multiple levels with deep storage lanes running into the system. Galvanized shuttle rails are installed along the pallet channels, while the orange load-supporting members and blue uprights form the main rack structure. Front protection components are also visible at the entry points of the lanes.

This is different from conventional selective pallet racking, where each pallet position normally has direct forklift access. In this setup, the storage lanes extend deeper into the rack, allowing several pallets to be stored in sequence within the same lane.

The result is a much denser storage arrangement, with less warehouse space being used for travel aisles between individual pallet rows.

Radio Shuttle Operation

The project was configured with four radio shuttle units.

In a shuttle racking system, the forklift places the pallet at the entrance of the required lane, while the shuttle travels inside the rack to position the pallet further into the storage channel. This arrangement keeps the forklift outside the deep rack lane and separates the pallet movement inside the rack from normal forklift travel.

For a warehouse handling a large number of palletized products, this type of system provides a practical way to combine deep storage with controlled pallet movement.

Installation by ANH Enterprise

The project document specifically identifies ANH Enterprise Limited as the Bangladesh channel partner responsible for installation, with provision for Godrej supervision where required.

This makes ANH Enterprise’s role in the project more than simply supplying racking equipment. The local installation work required the complete structure to be assembled and aligned so that the uprights, beams, shuttle rails and pallet lanes work together as one system.

The real project photographs show the completed rack structure inside the warehouse, including the multi-level lanes, shuttle rail arrangement, bracing and front protection.

A High-Density Storage Solution for Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd

The main value of this project is the way the storage space has been organized.

Instead of using a conventional layout with a large number of access aisles, the Shuttle Racking System creates deeper pallet storage channels and uses radio shuttle equipment for pallet movement inside those lanes.

For Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd, the project provides a structured high-density pallet storage system built around deep-lane storage, radio shuttle operation and multi-level racking.

The completed installation also serves as a strong reference for businesses looking for a shuttle racking system in Bangladesh, particularly where warehouse space needs to be used more efficiently for palletized goods without depending only on conventional selective racking.

What We Solved

For Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd, the storage requirement was not simply to install more racks. The aim was to create a high-density pallet storage system that could use the warehouse more effectively and keep pallet movement practical inside a deep storage layout.

ANH Enterprise implemented a Shuttle Racking System using Godrej-manufactured racking components, with four radio shuttle units included in the project configuration.

Using More of the Warehouse for Storage

A conventional pallet racking layout normally needs more access aisles because the forklift has to approach individual pallet positions directly.

For this project, the storage structure was arranged in deep pallet lanes. Instead of keeping every pallet position directly accessible from an aisle, several pallets can be stored along the same channel.

The actual project photos show this clearly. The rack has multiple levels, long internal storage lanes and dedicated shuttle rails running through the system.

This allowed the warehouse layout to focus more of the available space on pallet storage rather than creating access aisles between every rack row.

For a business handling a large volume of palletized products, that kind of arrangement is one of the main reasons to use a shuttle racking system.

Moving Pallets Inside the Rack

Deep storage only works well when pallet movement inside the lane is properly managed.

That is where the radio shuttle becomes an important part of the solution.

The project includes four radio shuttle units.

The forklift works from the front of the storage lane, while the shuttle handles pallet movement further inside the rack channel. This means the forklift does not need to travel deep into the racking structure for every pallet position.

The result is a more suitable handling arrangement for a deep-lane storage system.

Making the Rack and Shuttle Work as One System

A shuttle racking project is not only about supplying the steel structure.

The uprights, beams, shuttle rails, pallet lanes and radio shuttle equipment all have to work together accurately.

The actual installation photos show the rack structure built with:

  • multi-level pallet storage lanes,
  • shuttle rails running through the depth of the rack,
  • blue uprights,
  • orange load-supporting members,
  • galvanized structural members,
  • and protective components at the front of the system.

The project documentation identifies ANH Enterprise Limited as the Bangladesh channel partner responsible for the installation, with Godrej supervision considered as part of the installation arrangement.

This was important because correct installation and alignment are especially relevant in a shuttle system, where the shuttle equipment has to travel through the rack lanes as intended.

Supporting High-Density Pallet Storage

The real value of the solution is the combination of rack depth and shuttle movement.

Rather than using the warehouse only as a series of conventional pallet rows, the system creates deeper storage channels where multiple pallets can be kept within the same lane.

For Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd, this created a more compact pallet storage solution suited to an operation where substantial quantities of palletized products need to be kept within an organized warehouse structure.

The system therefore addresses two requirements together:

storing pallets densely while keeping pallet movement manageable inside the deep rack lanes.

Seismic Design Was Included from the Beginning

The racking system was also designed with structural conditions in mind.

The project documentation states that the system was designed to withstand Seismic Zone 2 forces in accordance with BNBC guidelines.

This is an important part of the project because the rack is not a small standalone shelving unit. It is a large multi-level storage structure carrying palletized goods across a number of deep lanes.

The seismic requirement was therefore considered as part of the racking design rather than being treated as an afterthought.

A Complete Warehouse Storage Setup

The project photos show the system both during installation and after pallets were placed inside the rack.

This gives a clear view of how the solution works in practice. The empty installation photographs show the depth of the lanes and shuttle rail arrangement, while the loaded rack shows palletized products stored across several levels.

That makes this project a strong real-world example of a radio shuttle racking system in Bangladesh rather than simply a catalogue concept.

What the Solution Achieved

For this project, ANH Enterprise helped create a warehouse storage arrangement where:

  • pallets can be stored deeper inside the rack structure,
  • less space needs to be dedicated to access between every storage row,
  • radio shuttle equipment handles movement within the storage lanes,
  • forklifts can work from the lane entry instead of travelling deep inside the rack,
  • the storage structure is arranged across multiple levels,
  • and the rack design includes Seismic Zone 2 consideration under BNBC guidelines.

The result is a practical high-density warehouse storage system built around the actual requirements of Bashundhara Multi Food Products Ltd.

For companies considering a shuttle racking system in Bangladesh, radio shuttle racking, deep-lane pallet storage, high-density warehouse racking, or automated pallet storage solution, this project shows how a conventional warehouse area can be developed into a more compact and organized pallet storage operation without relying only on standard selective racking.
